Carne by Todos Mis Amigos Estan Tristes

For fans of Car Seat Headrest, The Dismemberment Plan, Radiohead, noise rock, and that confused anger that follows a breakup where you can’t decide who’s at fault, Carne by Todos Mis Amigos Estan Tristes uses the dynamic contrast of alternative rock to reflect a bipolar attitude towards guilt, blame, and resentment. An excellent knack for songwriting imbues each song with catchy choruses, compelling progressions, and memorable riffs, all elements which present clear differences between each track to create a solid collection of stand-alone stories. From song to song, and sometimes from verse to chorus within the same song, the speaker switches dramatically from uncritical interpersonal hatred and intense introspective self-loathing. In the face of intense relationship stress, all of these thoughts cross our minds, and though stewing in this resentment will yield us nothing but continued pain, an acknowledgement and acceptance of these emotions helps us start the healing process. One day, we’ll start rebuilding our lives without that one person we thought would stay forever, but to get there we must endure this moment of punk-fueled angst.
