Towards Cleaner Bodies by Imaginary Husband
For fans of Mclusky, My Wife’s an Angel, Truck Violence, first wave emo, and the unashamed rejection of being nonchalant, Towards Cleaner Bodies by Imaginary Husband points into the sources of our misery and unflinchingly gives us permission to fire away. What starts as an aggressive noise rock record targeting disingenuous cultural leeches evolves into a depressive downward spiral more akin to early skramz records, introducing emotional swells which follow the narrator’s bold decision to examine the most damning corners of contemporary life. In this search, we find nothing but sociopathic status strivers in every circle, from open mics to corporate boardrooms, all mindlessly motivated by the same demon intent on destroying humanity and all its creative potential. I also wanted to note that on first listen I thought the opening track was specifically shading Outside Noise, but upon further investigation it’s definitely actually about this very specific sort of clout chaser which myself and this band find as a common enemy. For better or worse, this channel will wait another day for its first official diss track.
