For fans of Tyler, The Creator, Billy Woods, Confucius MC, horrrorcore, and that sort of misanthropic rage that comes out like a mumbling rant instead of any kind of cathartic burst, People Are Not Your Friends by Another Planet & Steel Tipped Dove uses unlikely samples and maximalist flows to submerge us in the brooding darkness of wits end. Sounds somewhere between the realms of industrial rock, glitch electronica, and classic horrorcore build the foundation of each beat, all adorned with a fairly minimal percussive pattern given the sheer amount of activity in this sample-heavy palette. Verbose flows interact with these beats in subtly unique ways, the words at times outrunning the skeletal percussion while staying in a rhythmic pocket implied by the tightly looping samples.
