Only Love by PEACH

Only Love by PEACH

For fans of Melvins, Couch Slut, Julie Christmas, desert rock, and the catastrophic realization of past codependency, Only Love by PEACH ascribes a realistic level of intensity to those toxic aspects of love we’re meant to brush off as totally normal, an intensity raised through a unique noise rock sound equipped with an instantly unforgettable protagonist. This speaker bristles with emotion at every turn, screams crackling into falsetto crackling into pure guttural noise as nonstop vocal meltdowns accompany a crushingly heavy, relentlessly riffy instrumental. Our only refuge from these domineering sonic juggernauts sneaks in through deeply dissonant guitar interludes, these warmly suspended or outright grating harmonies lending a further degree of compositional darkness to the album’s already brutal atmosphere. All these factors operating on all cylinders elevate these relatively straightforward noise rock songs to the level of high drama of a rock opera, an entire narrative which plays out in one singular instant of realization. That moment we realize what we’ve been allowing into our lives, this entire symphony plays out in our subconscious, sending our memories into freefall.
