Lack by Lack

Lack by Lack

For fans of Fugazi, Idles, Mclusky, college radio post hardcore from the 80s, and throwing your phone at the wall after experiencing social media stupidity in full force, Lack by Lack strikes deep at all our most pointless fascinations, using raw dissonant energy to motivate us into the sort of genuine action which we’ve previously been taught to entirely rule out. A core of ruthlessly aggressive drum and bass drives every composition, with noisy, abstract midrange guitar riffing filling most of the remaining space. For the most part, these guitars meander aimlessly alongside lyrics which similarly stumble through various misanthropic rants, none of which are baseless to be clear, but all of which as a whole seem to point towards nothing in particular at first glance. However, in rare moments of focused alignment, momentous chord progressions sweep us off our feet, joining hands with genuine lyrical calls to action as we reject the post-everything malaise of our day, choosing to march towards the future which we’ve been told repeatedly doesn’t exist.
