Idk by Tearyeyes

Idk by Tearyeyes

For fans of The Hotelier, Snowing, Joan of Arc, Americana-tinged slowcore, and the acknowledgement that we’re all learning how to be human for the first time, Idk by Tearyeyes engages with ignorance as something ultimately permanent, taking us down the path of acceptance through an emotionally vibrant indie emo sound. Each song describes a new situation in which a friend comes to our narrator in obvious distress, and in each case the narrator withers away in uncertainty, agonizing over every decision in a cycle mirrored perfectly by dynamic song structures. After we’ve writhed in this agony for a few songs, taken to enraged highs and hopeless lows through twinkly riffs and dissonant chords, we come out the other side choosing instead to accept this fundamental inadequacy as a core piece of the human experience. As much as everyone around us seems to have it all figured out, they’re also all making it up as they go along, so we really ought to let ourselves off the hook for those times a crisis leaves us momentarily as a deer in the headlights.
