Cut by Nadja

Cut by Nadja

For fans of Boris, Sunn O))), Yoo Doo Right, doom metal, and the overwhelming weight of our darkest accumulated experiences, Cut by Nadja treks with us as our legs buckle under a lifetime of trauma. These droney post-metal compositions dial up intensity with impeccable subtlety, leaving us shocked as we look back at our starting point from our destination of pure panic. Noisy, discordant woodwinds, guitar feedback, and pure distorted chaos looms greater in the background as these tracks progress, placing the record’s core repeating riffs under further intensifying stress. At the end of the tracks, rather than take the music to an over-the-top conclusion of explosive, anthemic melody or speaker-bashing noise, Nadja instead gracefully backs off to return us to the uneasy yet fundamentally much more amicable minimal ambience from which we began. Though our collected experiences press on us with a real and devastating weight, solutions exist beyond mere implosion, allowing us to live to see another increase of equal pressure, but to live nonetheless.
