For fans of Deli Girls, Snow Strippers, Machine Girl, witch house, that one last party before the apocalypse, We Can Rot Together by Kill Alters reaches aesthetic maximalism through both an immense diversity of source material and an unfathomably aggressive electronic rhythm, recontextualizing everything we experience into one burst of pure energy. At frantic rhythms and lurching cadences, all opportunities for structured dance fall away entirely, leaving cathartic flailing as the only possible reaction. Recognizable samples and familiar phrases whiz by our bewildered heads, only allowing the tiniest moment of mental acknowledgement before the image flashes by and becomes replaced by another. Thus, both the mind and body find themselves in sporadic movement, unspooling all our pent-up bewilderment at our information-dense environment through the exorcism of one dance-adjacent exercise.
