For fans of Talking Heads, Crippling Alcoholism, Mr Beast Death 2030, chaotic, charismatic noise rock, and the afterlife in all its horrifying outcomes, Training Musisic by Water Gun Water Gun Sky Attack teeters on the edge of existential despair, embracing the endless push-and-pull between daily distractions and some of life’s most essential questions. A nearly spoken vocal inflection bolsters a writing style of freeform prose, telling a winding story of a person constantly in danger of cratering their quality of life as their gaze lingers on the spiritual horizon. An obsession with the dual horrors of heaven and hell leaves our protagonist entirely immobile, with their lumbering oscillations captured by a unique electronica style founded upon synthesizers programmed from scratch by the artist. Despite the hyperactivity of these digital sounds, our narrator remains in bodily paralysis and spiritual terror, a startling reminder for us to look to our surroundings even if those eternal questions feel so much more interesting.
