The Isle of Skye by The Infinity Ring
For fans of Current 93, the Reverend Kristen Michael Hayter, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and classical mythology, The Isle of Skye by The Infinity Ring is a gothic neofolk journey into a labyrinthine garden of eden. Pastoral yet complex acoustic instrumentation backs a deep, brooding voice delivering poetic lyricism that explores an illusory world where existence and suffering are inextricable. Lush strings vacillate between melodic harmonies and shrieking dissonance, at times building into apices of climactic tension and at others simply fading back into the darkness. Yet as we continue our descent into the fabled maze, we discover that the Minotaur inside may be more human than monster. In the end, the narrator finds a path out of this exiled isolation, ultimately achieving liberation at the final moments when it matters most.
