Supercollider by Supercollider

For fans of Weatherday, Tongue Relaxer, Asian Glow, this very riffy yet abstract moment from late 90s indie rock, and taking a spin at the great roulette wheel of romance, Supercollider by Supercollider oozes with passion through its anthemic deployments of slightly glitchy noise rock. The confessional nature of the online noise rock scene dominates here, which when combined with an appreciation of big, grand moments and memorable, energetic melodies yields something which showcases both alternative rock excess and digital age earnestness. Additionally, a bend towards traditional instrumentation and away from synths cements this connection to the past, but several notable deviations throughout the album, especially a handful of deeply glitchy flourishes which momentarily grab hold of the vocals or guitar, remind us of our contemporary time and place, preventing even the slightest hint of nostalgia trip in this composition. We’re left instead with anthems to scream along to as we navigate our own moments of horrifically vulnerable yearning, a practice which helps us all feel a little more normal when we’re at our most insane.
