Revolutions by Daniel Bachman

Revolutions by Daniel Bachman

For fans of William Basinski, late Lou Reed, Weirs, drone metal, and taking a moment to breathe even during the apocalypse, Revolutions by Daniel Bachman guides our meditation through a droning guitar composition which harmonizes with the low groan of pain emanating from the earth. Distorted, manipulated, and layered beyond all recognition, these tracks take on a life of their own through post production and transform into a full droning orchestra, filling up all space in the sonic spectrum with a slowly rolling texture of pure warmth. Though this sound feels open, inviting, even comforting, an underlying torment pervades through the constant prevalence of near-perfect harmony, sliding in and out of tune so rapidly as to constantly make us aware of a fundamental problem lying just below the surface. If we listen closely to the quickening winds, the dripping ice, the fleeing birds, we notice this frequency friction in the natural world, a human-generated disease disturbing the gentle flow of the earth. Once we hear, we must sing along, showing everyone this senseless pain we inflict.
