Ingen vår i år by Hayeminol

Ingen vår i år by Hayeminol

For fans of The Beach Boys, Love, Asher White, power pop, and psychedelia as a fun foil to the drudgery of everyday life, Ingen vår i år by Hayeminol brings their accessible approach to a wide array of maximalist, baroque-adjacent sounds. At times emphasizing lo-fi synths and inviting comparisons to internet rock, at others veering strongly into traditional radio-ready psych pop, and at others embracing a glammy proto-punk mania, every moment of the record picks up on the same underlying energetic frequencies. In all their diverse sounds and frantic presentation, Hayminol still dependably allows room for the intrusion of the psychedelic sublime in well-regulated fits and spurts, breaking songs open to call out to the divine with soaring progressions and heavenly harmonies. As we return back to the energetic explosion from these euphoric highs, we find traces of this spirituality sewn into the fabric of the remainder of the album, an excellent integration of the beyond and the body which gets us dancing along while keeping our eyes pointed upward in expectation of transcendence.
