Fiction Prediction by Planet B

Totally dissatisfied with the chaos and incredulous bullshit the world has seen since their last release in 2018, Planet B returns with Fiction Prediction, a scifi-skewed cyber rage project that sees no relief in sight. With a ton of great features and heavy influence from turntablism the group charges forward and never really lets up, experimenting with syncopated synths and marching band percussion while intense vocals shout lyrics laden with internal rhyming structures and despair. Lyrically the album features themes like police and military brutality, mass capitalism and the modern widespread expectation of instant convenience, and the familial tension large-scale crises can cause. Piled on top is the unspoken and unrealistic expectation to carry on as normal in these conditions, and when placed in its otherworldly context, the album sounds like an alien is looking in on Earth and really hates what it sees. All this rage is delivered alongside undeniable dance beats with an industrial techno sound, reading as a totally earnest artistic endeavor while operating under layers of nuance and sarcasm.
