Amiture Music by Amiture Music

For fans of Vangas, Sprain, Drive Like Jehu, the more angular end of the windmill scene, and the macabre beauty of a tornado on the horizon, Amiture Music by Amiture Music finds the sublime hidden within dissonance, showing us a path towards the appreciation of a collapsing world. At first glance, this album’s sharply angular guitars, complex lumbering grooves, and desperately strained vocals constitute the epitome of intentional dissonance, immersing us in the sort of post hardcore space designed to force us into discomfort. However, especially as these extended song structures progress and we acclimate to this compositional language, an unconventional type of beauty emerges, one constructed of that same material which constitutes the rotten spirit of our times. Given that we have no choice but to build a life out of these scraps littered all around us, we may as well start seeking out aesthetic bliss in the rare upturned chord progression or cathartic percussive release.
